For quite a few years, the bridge class pupils of Mencia de Mendoza (Breda) and Mencia Sandrode (Zundert) have been dedicating themselves to their peers in the Philippines. This was also the case in late spring 2024. A charity run was held in Breda, and a sponsor obstacle run in Zundert. Prior to these sporting and fundraising activities, students learn all about the Philippines. Where is it located? What language do they speak there and are the main (cultural) differences. What is the life of the pupils at Papaya School like and ... what are actually their hobbies? The latter is not only told, but the pupils themselves can also ask their peers in the Philippines, as letters and/or e-mails are sent back and forth. Special to have real contact like this and to know for whom you are working.
