Kalinga nominated for Breda Peace Prize

Kalinga nominated for Breda Peace Prize

What an honour: thanks to the fantastic efforts of our board members Miranda van Loon and Peter van Schijndel, Kalinga has been nominated for the Breda Peace Prize. Breda mayor Paul Depla will present the prize on 18 September at the Maczek Memorial Breda. This year, for the first time, the prize will be awarded to an organisation and the other two nominees are Stichting Welkomsttaal and Stichting Happy Hippo.

According to the Breda Peace Prize jury, the three nominated organisations have shown that they contribute to a more peaceful society, in Breda or beyond. Earlier, 'our Peter and Miranda' were declared Heroes of Breda, also a huge honour. By the way, we know from a very reliable source that they are also considered heroes by the (former) pupils and teachers of the Papaya School in the Philippines and the entire Kalinga board, because thanks to their positive and great commitment they make a difference for many children and their families.
