Dear Sponsors
I am Michael Orcullo, 21 years old. I graduated last April 14, 2009 with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Social Work. It is a big achievement to me, but of course I couldn’t able to finished my course without the help and support of Kalinga at Pag-Ibig Foudnation. In fact, the non-government organization had been supported my studies for more than 7 or 8 years. I am very grateful and thankful to KPF.
After my graduation, April I was joined in a community immersion of KABAHAGI KA, it is a youth activity gathered with different youth group such as indigent and youth from urban and rural. I assigned by our facilitator in Nueva Ecija, I was stayed there for three days. I also sang in a radio station which is Radyo Natin Guimba, is a regional fm station. I learned so many things in an immersion such as serving people and understand them what their situation through immersing them not just interviewing, but I have to experience what they are experiencing right now.
June 23-24 of this year was the schedule of Board Examination for Social Worker. At first, I didn’t know where do I get the financial support for the exam because it has fee but I was fortunate that it was sponsored by the Church. The first two weeks of June, my classmates and I was decided to have self review session with no pay because we couldn’t afford the fees in review center. We took two weeks for review. Unfortunately, I had attending only two session because that time I had no money for transportation. June 27, Saturday, I received the result of the exam. Sad to say, I was failed it. But it is fine because I know and I still believe that it has a purpose.
However I was hired by the Families for Christ, the NGO of my Church as their social worker trainee. I had been working with them for more a month. I receive below minimum as my allowance. For the mean time, it is really big help for me to be able to practice my knowledge in regards of social work.
To make the story short, I am grateful and give my appreciation and recognition to KALINGA AT PAG IBIG FOUNDATION and say that it is really a blessing to those unfortunate people like. Many children have a great future like me.
